Your AI influencer's bio is the second thing people see after the face. Someone taps through from a Reel, glances at the profile for a couple of seconds, and decides whether to follow. The bio has to answer three questions in that time: what will I get, who is this, and can I trust it?
For an AI influencer there's a fourth question that a human creator doesn't face: is this real? Answering it honestly, in a way that doesn't kill the mood, is part of writing a good AI bio.
This guide gives you a simple formula, the rules on saying "AI", character limits by platform, and examples you can adapt.
A stranger decides in a couple of seconds.
The four-part formula
Most good bios, human or AI, do four things:
What they post. The promise to a stranger. "Weeknight dinners in 20 minutes" tells people what following gets them. "Food lover" doesn't.
A line of personality. One line that sounds like the character, not like a brand. "Brown butter evangelist." "Rates every sunset out of 10."
An honest AI line. A short, friendly note that the character is AI-generated.
A reason to tap. A call to action that matches the link: recipes, this week's outfits, the guide.
You don't need all four on separate lines, and you don't need emojis for every one. But if a bio is missing the first or the third, fix those first.
How to pick a name and handle for an AI influencer: what makes a name stick, styles that work by niche, username rules, the checks to run before you commit, and mistakes to avoid.
Being open that your character is AI isn't optional any more. Instagram renamed its "AI creator" label to "AI-generated profile" in August 2026 and limits recommendations for accounts featuring an AI-generated person without it. TikTok and YouTube ask for realistic AI content to be labelled, and advertising rules in the US and EU apply to virtual influencers too. The label and the bio work together: the label is the official signal, the bio says it in the character's own voice.
The trick is to make the AI line part of the personality rather than a legal footnote. Some styles:
Straight: "AI creator, not a real person."
Playful: "100% AI. 0% skipped leg day."
In character: "Made of pixels. Opinions are my own."
Each platform gives you a different amount of space:
Instagram: 150 characters, emojis and line breaks included. This is the one to write first.
TikTok: 80 characters. Cut to the promise and the AI line.
X: 160 characters.
YouTube: the channel description is much longer, so add a short paragraph about who the character is and what each series covers. Put the most important line first, since only the start shows in many places.
Pinterest: the profile's About section has more room than Instagram. Use searchable words for what the character shares, because Pinterest is search-first. See Pinterest for AI Influencers.
A good habit: write the Instagram version first, then cut it down for TikTok and expand it for YouTube.
Examples by niche
Here are example bios for invented characters, each under 150 characters. Adapt the structure, not the words.
Fitness
Home workouts in 20 min, no gym needed 💪 Coffee before cardio, always. AI creator, not a real person. ↓ This week's plan
Fashion
Capsule outfits for Berlin weather 🖤 Black on black until the sun comes out. AI-generated · fits change weekly ↓ The full looks
Food
Weeknight dinners in 20 minutes 🍝 Brown butter evangelist. Made by AI, tested by nobody (that's the joke) ↓ Recipes
Careful with that last one: it's honest and funny, but don't then post "I made this last night and it was perfect". An AI character can't taste anything. More on that in AI Influencer vs Human Influencer.
Travel
Slow weekends in small European towns ✈️ Rates every sunset out of 10. 100% AI, 0% jet lag. ↓ Itineraries
Tech
Desk setups and honest app takes 💻 Mildly obsessed with keyboards. AI creator · not a real person ↓ Gear list
Beauty
Soft glam in 10 minutes 💄 Skincare first, then everything else. AI-generated character ↓ Routines
Notice what they share: the promise comes first, the personality line is specific, the AI line is short, and the call to action points somewhere. Browse more niche ideas on the AI influencer hub, from fitness to travel.
Write it long, then cut it to fit.
The name and the handle
The bio sits under the name, so they should work together. A few tips:
Name field: on Instagram the name field is searchable, so "Mia · Capsule Wardrobe" can help people find the account. Keep it readable.
Handle: short, easy to say out loud, the same on every platform if possible. Check it's free everywhere before you commit.
Avoid real people's names and anything that looks like an existing brand or creator.
Starting with "AI influencer". It tells people what the account is, not why they should follow. Lead with the content.
Listing traits instead of a promise. "Dreamer · coffee · travel · vibes" could be anyone.
Hiding the AI line at the end of a long bio or in a link. Make it visible.
A call to action that doesn't match the link. If the bio says "recipes", the link should go to recipes.
Never updating it. When a series changes or a season starts, refresh the bio. It's the cheapest change you can make.
Too many emojis. One or two help scanning; ten make it unreadable.
A quick checklist
The first line says what they post.
One line sounds like the character.
An honest AI line is visible without tapping "more".
The call to action matches the link.
It fits the platform's limit, emojis included.
On Instagram, the AI-generated profile label is switched on.

How Influgen handles the profile
In Influgen, each influencer has a written identity (where they live, what they love, their humour and the things they won't do), and that personality carries through to their captions and replies, so the bio isn't the only place they sound like themselves. A team of AI specialists plans, creates and posts for them, and you approve each post or let it run within your rules.
Launch prices are on the pricing page. Influgen is opening in waves: create your influencer for free now, and their team starts when your spot opens. The first 1,000 accounts get 100 extra credits.
